JumpStart Autism Center of Denver offers comprehensive interventions for children with autism (i.e., up to 40 hours of therapy per week), utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques to modify behavior. Our interventions teach replacement behaviors to reduce challenging behaviors and lay the necessary groundwork for future learning and development by teaching socially significant skills.
The primary goal for all our clients is to bring children to the level of their neuro-typical peers. With our program, children can go on to thrive at home, be successful in school, and thrive in their communities. We maintain high expectations for our clients, and we frequently see our clients reach their lofty goals. Applied Behavior Analysis absolutely can and does change a child’s quality of life and the direction of their future.
Our Programs and Services
JumpStart Autism Center has services available for children who have recently been diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. We offer Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) evaluations and diagnosis.
If the assessment shows that the child’s development and behavior falls within the spectrum of ASD, we can provide you with resources and information to help you take the next step, and begin the process of enrolling your child in our Applied Behavior Analysis program. Our team’s goal is to reduce the time that lapses between an initial diagnosis and initiation of treatment.
A Variety of ABA Programs
Depending on your child’s needs and your budgetary or time limitations, we offer a number of programs. The methods in each are the same: All use Applied Behavior Analysis as the basis for assessing a child’s individual needs and developing a strategy for modifying or teaching behaviors. The programs primarily differ in intensity and focus, with the less intensive programs having a more narrow scope.
- Comprehensive Interventions range from 20 to 40 hours per week Monday through Friday. Treatments are provided at our clinic and your home. These comprehensive interventions primary goal is to change your child’s developmental trajectory. We do this by developing treatment goals and intervention for all areas of development (e.g., social, communication, cognitive, play, adaptive and motor) and develop behavioral treatment plans to reduce challenging behaviors.
- The full-day program is the most intensive and effective treatment available. Research has shown that Early and Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) is the key to changing the long-term quality of a child’s life and their development. Our full-day program takes 30 to 40 hours each week, with treatments focused in the center and at your home. This high level of intensive treatment will usually last for one to two years as appropriate for your child’s needs and developmental goals. We have seen massive changes in the developmental skills of clients who enroll in this program. The full-day comprehensive program truly changes your child’s life long developmental trajectory and maximizes their personal potential.
- The half-day program is a comprehensive intervention program that allows for 20 to 30 hours of ABA service per week. Treatment occurs both in the center and at your home, and the program is designed to be implemented over a one to two year period. The intensity of the half-day program allows us to make changes in your child’s developmental trajectory. The half-day program is a good option for children who are enrolled in half-day schools or whose participation in the public school system has been reduced.
- Focused Interventions range from 8 to 20 hours per week Monday through Saturday. Treatments are provided at our clinic and your home. These focused interventions target a select number of specific goals, such as increasing specific developmental skills or reducing specific challenging behaviors.
Each program utilizes applied and Verbal Behavior Analysis techniques to assess a child’s needs and developmental milestones. Utilizing the principles of learning theory, a variety of treatments can be applied with the goal of dramatically increasing a child’s social skills, communication, adaptive living skills, sensory processing and more.
