JumpStart Autism Center offers three program types to fit the needs of your child and your family. Our comprehensive ABA programs have been shown to be most effective and are available in full and half-day sessions. The full-day program is our most intensive option and provides the most dramatic results.
What is Covered in a Full-Day Program?
Our full-day ABA programs are 30-40 hours per week of intensive therapy. We can provide a broad range of interventions to cover a number of behaviors, rather than just focusing on one or two priorities the way we must in a focused program. Treatment occurs at our center as well as home-based interventions, and we intend to maintain this intensive treatment for 2 years, or until the services no longer deemed medically necessary. As long as the serve is deemed medically necessary, then insurance companies will typically cover the service.
All of JAC’s ABA programs use our Verbal Behavior curricula and the VB-MAPP (Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program) to measure a child’s progress and develop appropriate goals. However, unlike other ABA programs, children in the full day ABA program learn specific teaching targets much quicker and require frequent oversight by a BCBA to ensure your child is learning at an exponential rate. We track learning rates by charting and monitoring your child’s progress on a day-to-day basis. Due to this intensive monitoring our BCBAs can identify which areas require the most intensive focus and will hone your child’s individual treatment plan to maximize their learning in each session and across time. This is how we are able to see such remarkable results.
We pioneered the full-day ABA program in New Mexico, offering the first comprehensive treatment model of its kind for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our comprehensive ABA services are consistent with National standards of ABA services and the foundation for the development of our Verbal Behavior curricula. We are now offering these highly effective treatment services in Denver. Our ABA is consistent with the standards set by the National Academy of Science Committee on Educational Interventions for Children with Autism. This means that your child will receive the best quality of service possible based on research and clinical implementation.
Who is Best Suited to a Full-Day Program?
Due to the amount of time required for this program, children who younger than age 6 and who are not attending mainstream school are best-suited for full-day comprehensive ABA therapy. Some parents find it beneficial to take their children out of school for the duration of the program as it can foster more progress than traditional special education programs.
The comprehensive treatment model is also especially well-suited to younger children who have not yet reached school age. Because Early and Intensive Behavior Therapy (EIBI) is the most effective intervention, we find that younger children get the most out of this treatment. We frequently work with your early intervention providers to coordinate services and provide an integrated program. It is never too late to enroll your child.
Our clinical staff can help you decide which treatment option is best for your child’s individual needs and development. Contact us today for more information and guidance about what ABA program is right for your family.
