JumpStart Autism Center offers both focused and comprehensive ABA programs for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Our comprehensive programs are available in full-day and half-day therapies to meet the individual needs of your child.
What is a Half-Day ABA Program?
Our half-day ABA program is similar in scope to the full-day program, but it is lower in intensity due to the reduced number of hours spent in direct therapy. Participation in the half-day program requires 20-30 hours per week service, combining a mixture of treatment in our center with interventions at the child’s home.
The goal of any comprehensive ABA therapy is to develop a wide range of skills, targeting goals across most areas of development. Instead of focusing on a single set of skills, such as language acquisition, we provide a more thorough assessment and development of cognitive, social and adaptive behaviors.
Our treatment curriculum coincides with the VP-MAPP (Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program) to direct developmentally appropriate goals and interventions in keeping with the standards established by the National Academy of Science Committee on Educational Interventions for Children with Autism. This means that your child will receive the best quality of service possible based on research and clinical implementation.
Best Candidates for Half-Day Therapy
The ideal candidate for our half-day program is a child who requires comprehensive intervention but cannot commit 40 hours a week to treatment. Many of our clients in half-day programs are enrolled in half-days in the public school system, either due to their age or a reduction in participation in public school.
Like our full-day comprehensive program, the half-day therapy is intended to last for 1-2 years of treatment or as needed for a child’s development and skill acquisition.
